Gazoduq Concludes Non-binding Open Season for its Proposed Natural Gas Transmission System

Gazoduq is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its non-binding open season on January 6, 2020.

The company will now move to the next phase of its project development, which will include submitting comprehensive applications for the necessary regulatory approvals, completion of binding commercial agreements with shippers, and on-going consultations with Indigenous groups and stakeholders.

"The completion of the non-binding open season represents another important milestone in the advancement of our project", stated Louis Bergeron, president of Gazoduq Inc. "We look forward to continuing our consultations with Indigenous and local communities to help us develop this exciting project that will benefit the environment and the economy".

Gazoduq launched its non-binding open season on December 4, 2019 to solicit expressions of interest from parties for firm transportation services on its proposed approximately 780 km underground natural gas transmission line. The line would run from northeastern Ontario to Saguenay, Quebec and is expected to be in service by early 2025.

The Gazoduq project represents an investment of approximately $5 billion, and will generate significant economic spinoffs for Quebec, Ontario and Canada as well as contribute to the reduction of GHG emissions on a global scale.
